"Liquid Assets of the Club" 
 

 

Memorial Day marks the start of summer at Fish & Game. The swimming pool becomes energized with exciting, competitive swim meets, swim lessons and serious socializing by our membership. 

Our swim team competes in the Town & Country swim league which has been a tradition for quite some time. In addition to our youth swim programs, our beautiful pool is the perfect haven for families and singles of all ages to cool down and enjoy the summer season.

                                  Meet The Aquatics Team

Barbara Carey  
Director of Aquatics

This is Barbara's 4th year here at the club, first as a Lifeguard and and the last 3 years as Director of Aquatics.  She holds numerous certifications in the aquatic field including:  Water Safety Instructor (WSI-Red Cross), Lifeguard, American Learn to Swim,  ASCA  Level II Stroke technician, Water Fitness Instructor, First Aid & CPR/AED. She has an extensive competitive swim background with well over 10 years experience in
 recreational, elite and Masters levels. Barbara is a senior Swim Instructor at the Madison YMCA  for ten years working with Private Lessons, Group Lessons & Swim Clinic for ages 6-9 . She has a true passion for working with kids of all abilities and is eagerly looking forward to passing along her knowledge to the F&G aquatics community.

Barbara has 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren.  In her free time, she enjoys camping, kayaking, hiking and volunteering with the American Legion and the Valerie Fund's Camp Happy Times.

 
Kelly Horan
Head Swim Coach                                 
Kelly is excited to return as the Head Coach this summer! She has four years of coaching experience in the Chatham area, where she also has taught swim lessons and was a lifeguard.  She grew up swimming in the Town and Country League, and also has many years of competitive swimming experience for the Madison and Summit Area YMCAs.  As a senior, she was captain of the Chatham High School girls swim team.
When not at the pool, Kelly is a student athlete at Gettysburg College where she plays field hockey and is working towards a major in health science and a minor in business. 

 

Terry Lopotosky
Group & Private Swim Instructor
Terry is happy to return for her 4th year.  She has been certified in WSI as well as an Instructor for Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR.  Terry has been a Lifeguard for over 25 years, worked as a Waterfront Director and a Day Camp Director where she also taught swim lessons.  For the past 5 years, she has been a Learning Disability Teacher Consultant and taught at schools for the learning disabled for 10 years.
In her free time, Terry enjoys camping & kayaking and volunteers as a swim support kayaker for various open water swim organizations.
